Lhoknga - Lhokgna is a town in the subdistrict of Aceh Besar, Aceh, Indonesia, located on the western side of the island of Sumatra, 13 km southwest of Banda Aceh. It was completely flattened by the Boxing Day Tsunami, with the exception of the mosque. The population of the town dwindled from 7500 to 400. Tsunami runups following eyewitness accounts of waves were recorded being 35 m in height (waves hitting land at the height of 35 m), the highest known tsunami wave known to date.

The bathymetry project has provided detailed bathymetry data for this area to researchers investigating different tsunami wave modeling algorithms.
